  1. 26. Theoretical Investigation into Longitudinal Dispersion in Natural Rivers — A Scaling Dispersion Model

    Författare :Zhi-Qiang Deng; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; Environmental technology; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; offshore technology; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; Scaling dispersion.; Parameter estimation; Numerical scheme; Dispersion coefficient; Natural river;

    Sammanfattning : Using a broad variety of scientific methods this dissertation systematically investigates the fundamental mechanisms underlying the dispersion processes in natural rivers and their mathematical descriptions in a geometrical framework. Emphasis is on the geometrical variations and irregularities of a natural river and their scales. LÄS MER

  2. 27. Thermal response tests : influence of convective flow in groundwater filled borehole heat exchanger

    Författare :Anna-Maria Gustafsson; Jeffrey D. Spitler; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Vattenteknik; Water Resources Engineering; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The main objective of this doctorial thesis was to investigate how thermally induced movements in the groundwater (natural convective flow) may influence the heat transport in borehole and surrounding bedrock in a groundwater filled borehole heat exchanger system. The purpose was also to determine if thermal response tests could be used to detect the convective influence and the effect on evaluated heat transfer parameters, effective bedrock thermal conductivity and borehole thermal resistance. 3. 28. Modelling of cyclic and viscous behaviour of materials for gas turbine applications - with a view towards fatigue life predictions

    Författare :Rebecka Brommesson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; mean stress relaxation; parameter identification; Haynes 282; viscoplasticity; Ti-6242; fatigue life prediction; intergranular fracture; micromechanical model; sensitivity analysis; finite element method; Plasticity; crystal plasticity; cyclic hardening softening;

    Sammanfattning : Critical jet engine components are exposed to high temperatures. These components are also required to have low weight in order to reduce fuel consumption and allow for heavier payload, higher speed, and longer flight distance of the aircraft. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Elasto-hydrodynamic film formation in heavily loaded rolling-sliding contacts : Influence of surface topography on the transition between lubrication regimes

    Författare :Jonny Hansen; Roland Larsson; Marcus Björling; Guillermo Morales-Espejel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Maskinelement; Machine Elements;

    Sammanfattning : To meet the stringent demands set on future gear transmissions, and to allow for manufacturers to make them more efficient and durable, it is essential to understand what mechanisms that govern their performance. This work was launched with the chief targets of establishing key competence in gear lubrication. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Parameters in wet grinding : the influence of process variables on autogenous and conventional grinding

    Författare :Hongxin Zhai; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mineralteknik; Mineral Processing;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of autogenous and conventional grinding on the liberation of particles have been studied on the laboratory, pilot and industrial scales. It appears that autogenous grinding, down to flotation fineness, results in a higher degree of liberation and smoother particle surface for flotation, than is obtained with conventional grinding.
