    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is a comparative and deconstructive study of the use of narrative exempla in the Revelations of Saint Birgitta (also known as Saint Bridget of Sweden) and in Swedish sermon collections from the Late Middle Ages. The purpose is to show how Birgitta during the 14th century and Swedish preachers during the 15th century morally educated their audiences through the inclusion of exemplary stories in their works.     Sammanfattning : The study explores the meanings and practices associated with Vellalah identity in relation to the Tamil nation project in Jaffna, in the northern part of Sri Lanka, with a focus on caste transformation. Given that caste is a culturally sensitive identity and practice of Tamils, the inescapable engagement with the Tamil nation project is investigated here via a case study on Vellalah, the protagonist and hegemonic caste among Tamils.     Sammanfattning : The broad aim of this thesis is to explain the fundamental themes and function of Swedish field sermons and field prayers, and so to re-examine the view in earlier research that field sermons were primarily ‘Old Testamentary’ in nature.     Sammanfattning : Acculturation identity and employment among second and middle generation immigrants This paper explores the employment implications for individuals with a foreign background of identification to the ethnic group and to the majority culture. Results indicate that what matters for employment outcomes is an attachment to the majority culture while a strong attachment to the ethnic group is not per se detrimental for employment outcomes.
