  1. 6. Targeting the IL-33/ST2 pathway in asthma : implications for development, exacerbation and treatment

    Författare :Anna Zoltowska Nilsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Asthma is a term that encompasses a disease spectrum with different phenotypes that vary in severity and whose common characteristic is airflow limitation. Allergic asthma is the most common phenotype of asthma and is characterized by allergen induced inflammatory responses, airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR), and remodeling. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Quality of life, mortality and exacerbations in COPD

    Författare :Josefin Sundh; Scott Montgomery; Christer Janson; Björn Ställberg; Anne Lindberg; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; COPD; HRQL; CCQ; comorbidity; mortality; DOSE index; SMR; exacerbations; asthma COPD clinic; Medicine; Medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Risk factors for poor health related quality of life (HRQL), mortality and exacerbations in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) need to be explored.Objectives: To examine associations of comorbidity and Body Mass Index (BMI) with HRQL using the Clinical COPD Questionnaire (CCQ); to examine the prognostic qualities of the multidimensional instrument DOSE index; to examine the association of health status estimated by the CCQ with mortality; and to examine management of exacerbations and subsequent exacerbation risk. 3. 8. Psychological aspects of patients with psoriasis: Biological and clinical studies

    Författare :Charlotta Remröd; Yrkes- och miljödermatologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Psoriasis; psychology; Substance P; Neurokinin-1; stress; pruritus; anxiety; depression; personality;

    Sammanfattning : Psychological distress is well known to be associated with psoriasis, both as a disease consequence, and as a causative factor for onset and exacerbations. Psychoneuroimmunological mechanisms have been suggested to be involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis and have often been shown to be related to psychological distress and pruritus in psoriasis. 4. 9. Swallowing Dysfunction in Respiratory Diseases : Prevalence and risk factors in COPD and COVID-19

    Författare :Margareta Gonzalez Lindh; Hirsh Koyi; Margareta Jennische; Monica Blom Johansson; Bonnie Martin-Harris; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :swallowing dysfunction; dysphagia; COPD; dyspnoea; COVID-19; invasive mechanical ventilation; Rehabilitation Medicine; Rehabiliteringsmedicin; Oto-Rhino-Laryngology; Oto-rhino-laryngologi;

    Sammanfattning : Objective: Swallowing dysfunction, dysphagia, is a common, sometimes dangerous, and often neglected problem that affects many people. The prevalence is estimated to be approximately 8% in the general population which makes it as common as e.g. diabetes or asthma. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Mixed Effects Modeling of Deterministic and Stochastic Dynamical Systems - Methods and Applications in Drug Development

    Författare :Jacob Leander; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pharmacometrics; pharmacokinetics; mixed effects; drug development; pharmacodynamics; parameter estimation; time-to-event; mathematical modeling; dynamical systems;

    Sammanfattning : Mathematical models based on ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are commonly used for describing the evolution of a system over time. In drug development, pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) models are used to characterize the exposure and effect of drugs. LÄS MER
