    Sammanfattning : Background: Risk factors for poor health related quality of life (HRQL), mortality and exacerbations in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) need to be explored.Objectives: To examine associations of comorbidity and Body Mass Index (BMI) with HRQL using the Clinical COPD Questionnaire (CCQ); to examine the prognostic qualities of the multidimensional instrument DOSE index; to examine the association of health status estimated by the CCQ with mortality; and to examine management of exacerbations and subsequent exacerbation risk.     Sammanfattning : Aims of the thesis: The general objective of this project was to identify and to some extent remove obstacles in the incorporation of disease-specific quality of life and/or health-status assessments in the management of asthma and COPD patients in primary care. The measurement properties, the design and the administrative complexity of the instruments at hand have been scrutinized with the intent to make it possible for primary care to integrate a patient perspective in the treatment and monitoring of asthma and COPD.     Sammanfattning : A main purpose of this thesis was to develop a model of leadership style named Generative Learning Management (GLM), thought to influence goal-oriented interpersonal creativity in organizations, and to test this model. Creativity is a complex consisting of both novelty and usefulness and it is a general mental ability that is determined by the interplay between different regions in a normally functioning human brain.
