  1. 11. Time, justice and the future of mobility : Essays in philosophy of transport

    Författare :Maria Nordström; Karin Edvardsson Björnberg; Sven Ove Hansson; Muriel Beser Hugosson; Anders Karlström; Ibo van de Poel; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; transport justice; mobility; accessibility; philosophy of the city; Filosofi; Philosophy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis in philosophy consists of an introduction and five papers on three themes related to transport: valuations of time, the metric of transport justice, and future mobility solutions. The first paper analyses the properties of time as an economic resource taking into account literature on behaviour concerning time. 2. 12. Arsenic in tubewell water of Bangladesh and approaches for sustainable mitigation

    Författare :Md. Jakariya; Prosun Bhattacharya; Jan Hoinkis; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Tubewell; Arsenic; field test kit; groundwater; sediment colour; local drillers; safe aquifer; people’s initiatives; Participatory GIS PGIS ; Water in nature and society; Vatten i natur och samhälle;

    Sammanfattning : There is an urgent need for Bangladesh to identify the arsenic (As) contaminated tubewells (TWs) in order to assess the health risks and initiate appropriate mitigation measures. This involves testing water in millions of TWs and raising community awareness about the health problems related to chronic As exposure from drinking water, and providing alternative safe water option for the exposed population of the country. 3. 13. Adsorption behaviour of bottle-brush and block copolymers at solid-liquid interfaces

    Författare :Geoffrey Olanya; Per M. Claesson; Orlando Rojas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Adsorption; Lubrication; Layer viscoelasticity; Protein repellency; Polymer architecture; Silica; Bottle-brush polymers; Poly ethylene oxide ; PEO; Block copolymer; Poly N-isopropylacrylamide ; QCM-D; AFM; Reflectometry; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis was spurred on by needs of current scientific and technological developments in the area of surface modification by use of adsorbed polymer layers. The importance of surface properties of polymer layers can be imparted in a broad spectrum of interfacial-related applications like lubrication, colloidal stability, detergency, and protein resistant surfaces, to just mention a few.
