Sammanfattning : Denna avhandling, som i huvudsak är resultatet av ett projekt finansierat av Skolöverstyrelsen, består av fem delstudier (I-V) utförda under åren 1977-1991 samt en sammanfattande analysdel (VI). Avhandlingens syfte är att studera det unika svenska relativa betygssystemet, som infördes på försök i folkskolan i början av 1940-talet för att senare permanentas och även införas i enhets- och grundskolan samt slutligen även i gymnasiet. 3. Academic Performance in Swedish Ninth Grade Students Treated for Brain Tumours
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to investigate how children in Sweden treated for brain tumours performed in their ninth year at school compared with matched controls. The studies investigated grades and results from national tests in the theoretical subjects of Swedish, English, and mathematics; grades in the practical and aesthetic subjects of art, crafts, music, home and consumer studies, physical education and health; and the frequency of delayed graduation and qualification for school years 10-12 (corresponding to upper-secondary school or high school).
