11. Pattern-recognition receptors in airway inflammation
Sammanfattning : Airway inflammation is a defining feature of allergic rhinitis and asthma. Bacterial and viral infections are known to cause exacerbations of both diseases, but knowledge about the mechanisms involved is limited. LÄS MER
12. Microvascular inflammatory response in the skin

In addition to the local inflammation in the nose, there is a systemic component that influences peripheral blood, bone marrow and lungs. LÄS MER
14. Allergic rhinitis and intralymphatic vaccination : immune response and tolerance
Sammanfattning : The overall goal of this thesis was to study novel immunological mechanisms for the development of pollen-induced allergic rhinitis (AR) and to evaluate the clinical response in combination with immunological changes in AR patients treated with intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT). In paper I, an increased fraction of neutrophils were detected in the nasal mucosa of AR patients compared with healthy controls. LÄS MER
