  1. 1. Exploring aspects of automation decisions A study in the Swedish wood products industry

    Författare :Roaa Salim; Mats Winroth; Kristina Säfsten; Jimmy Johansson; Kerstin Johansen; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; Sweden; Wood products industry; Manufacturing strategy; Automation decisions;

    Sammanfattning : The wood products industry is important to Sweden's prosperity, and is currently facing several challenges by increased global competition. To avoid the gradual decline of the industry’s contribution to the country’s revenues and employment opportunities, the Swedish wood products industry needs to increase the proportion of the raw material that is refined. 2. 2. Wood Fingerprints Recognition of Sawn Wood Products

    Detta är en avhandling från Luleå tekniska universitet

    Författare :Tobias Pahlberg; [2014]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träproduktutveckling; Wood Products Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with wood fingerprints and presents ways to track sawn wood products through an industrial process using cameras. The possibility to identify individual wood products comes from the biological variation of the trees, where the genetic code, environment and breakdown process creates a unique appearance for every board.     Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; hemicellulose; wood; glucomannan; xylan; structure; acetylation; flexibility; solubility; interaction with cellulose; stability.; hemicellulosa; trä; glukomannan; xylan; struktur; acetylering; flexibilitet; löslighet; interaktion med cellulosa; stabilitet.; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Hemicelluloses are a group of heterogeneous polysaccharides representing around 30 % of wood where the dominating types are xylans, glucomannans and xyloglucans. Hemicelluloses complex molecular structure makes it difficult to understand the relationship between structure and properties entirely, and their biological role is not yet fully verified. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Recalcitrance of wood to biochemical conversion : feedstock properties, pretreatment, saccharification, and fermentability

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå University

    Författare :Zhao Wang; Leif Jönsson; Brett Pletschke; [2018]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Recalcitrance; Pretreatment; Enzymatic saccharification; Ionic liquid; Steam explosion; Enzyme inhibition; Non-productive binding; Microbial inhibitors;

    Sammanfattning : Lignocellulose is an inexpensive and abundant renewable resource that can be used to produce advanced biofuels, green chemicals, and other bio-based products. Pretreatment and efficient enzymatic saccharification are essential features of bioconversion of lignocellulosic biomass. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Industrial Wood Drying Airflow Distribution, Internal Heat Exchange and Moisture Content as Input and Feedback to the Process

    Detta är en avhandling från Luleå tekniska universitet

    Författare :Tommy Vikberg; [2015]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Träteknik; Wood Technology;

    Sammanfattning : At a sawmill, the most energy demanding process is the wood drying. The drying process also has a great impact on quality parameters determined for the boards in the final sorting and thereby affects the sales value to a great extent. LÄS MER
