    Författare :Stefan B Lindström; Tetsu Uesaka; Myat Htun; Fritz Bark; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fibre; fibre suspension; simulation; paper; papermaking; forming; fibre orientation distribution; fibre flexibility; viscosity; first normal stress difference; fluid flow; simple shear flow; two-way coupling; three-dimensional; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : A new model for simulating non-Brownian flexible fibres suspended in a Newtonian fluid has been developed. Special attention has been given to include realistic flow conditions found in the industrial papermaking process in the key features of the model; it is the intention of the author to employ the model in simulations of the forming section of the paper machine in future studies. 3. 3. Near wall fibre orientation in flowing suspensions

    Författare :Allan Carlsson; Daniel Söderberg; Fredrik Lundell; Helge I. Andersson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; fluid mechanics; fibre orientation; shear flow; wall effect; fibre suspension; papermaking; Fluid mechanics; Strömningsmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with fibre orientation in wall-bounded shear flows. The primary application in mind is papermaking. The study is mainly experimental,but is complemented with theoretical considerations.The main part of the thesis concerns the orientation of slowly settlingfibres in a wall-bounded viscous shear flow. 4. 4. Needle Punching of Wet Cellulose Fibre Structure

    Författare :Maria Klingberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; out-of–plane; fibre orientation; needle punching; fibre network structure; paperboard; cellulose fibre;

    Sammanfattning : Needle punching of cellulose fibre structures was studied, in order to explore the possibility for a new method for bonding to be used in the paperboard industry. The interest in such subject was based on the need for stronger fibre-to-fibre bonding in the thickness direction of paperboard. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Fibre Orientation Modelling Applied to Contracting Flows Related to Papermaking

    Författare :Marko Hyensjö; Anders Dahlkild; Markku Kataja; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fokker-Planck; fibre orientation; shear flow; fibre suspension; planar contraction; headbox; turbulent flow; Other engineering mechanics; Övrig teknisk mekanik;

    Sammanfattning : The main goal of this work was to develop numerical models for studying the behaviour of fibres in an accelerated flow. This is of special interest for e.g. papermaking. LÄS MER
