  1. 6. Multilingual text generation from structured formal representations

    Författare :Dana Dannélls; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coherence; computational linguistics; coreference; corpus linguistics discourse structure; knowledge representation; language technology; lexical semantics; linked open data; multilingual natural language generation; natural language processing; ontology; semantic web.;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to identify the optimal ways in which natural language generation techniques can be brought to bear upon the problem of processing a structured body of information in order to devise a coherent presentation of text content in multiple languages. We investigate how chains of referential expressions are realized in English, Swedish and Hebrew, and suggest several coreference strategies that can be used to generate coherent descriptions about paintings. 2. 7. Word Representations for Emergent Communication and Natural Language Processing

    Författare :Mikael Kågebäck; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Extractive summarisation; Emergent communication; Deep reinforcement learning; Natural language processing; Word Representations; Deep learning; Machine learning; Artificial neural networks;

    Sammanfattning : The task of listing all semantic properties of a single word might seem manageable at first but as you unravel all the context dependent subtle variations in meaning that a word can encompass, you soon realize that precise mathematical definition of a word’s semantics is extremely difficult. In analogy, humans have no problem identifying their favorite pet in an image but the task of precisely defining how, is still beyond our capabilities. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Tryckt bild eller avbildat tryck? : Visuella representationer av begrepp relaterade till tryck i fysikläroböcker för högstadiet

    Författare :Charlotte Lagerholm; Utbildningsvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Representations; Lower secondary school; Physics textbooks; Multimodality; Affordance;

    Sammanfattning : AbstractIn this study visual representations of the concept of pressure in five physics textbooks for lower secondary school have been analysed in terms of how they communicate the concept of pressure, and also how these representations work together to explain what pressure is. Examples of visual representations are fonts, photographs, sketches, tables or mathematic formulas. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Contributions to Semantic Dependency Parsing : Search, Learning, and Application

    Författare :Robin Kurtz; Marco Kuhlmann; Lilja Øvrelid; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Semantic dependency parsing is the task of mapping natural language sentences into representations of their meaning in the form of directed graphs on words. These bilexical graphs are designed to capture the sentence-internal predicate-argument relationships – they tell us “who did what to whom” in the given sentence. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Interpretation and Alignment of 2D Indoor Maps : Towards a Heterogeneous Map Representation

    Författare :Saeed Gholami Shahbandi; Björn Åstrand; Roland Philippsen; Antanas Verikas; Patric Jensfelt; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Robotics; Mobile Robots; Autonomous Robots; Robot Perception; Robotic Mapping; Map Interpretation; Semantic Mapping; Place Categorization; Place Labeling; Semantic Annotation; Map Alignment; Region Segmentation; Region Decomposition; Map Representation; Heterogeneous Representation;

    Sammanfattning : Mobile robots are increasingly being used in automation solutions with notable examples in service robots, such as home-care, and warehouses. Autonomy of mobile robots is particularly challenging, since their work space is not deterministic, known a priori, or fully predictable. LÄS MER
