  1. 1. Long-term development of subalpine lakes : effects of nutrients, climate and hydrological variability as assessed by biological and geochemical sediment proxies

    Författare :Manuela Milan; Christian Bigler; Monica Tolotti; Richard Bindler; Krystyna Szeroczyńska; Atte Korhola; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Paleolimnology; diatoms; Cladocera; sub-fossil pigments; geochemistry; wavelengthdispersive X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy; Lake Garda; Lake Ledro; reference conditions; nutrient enrichment; climate change; hydrological regime.;

    Sammanfattning : Sediment records of two Italian subalpine lakes (Lake Garda and Lake Ledro) were analyzed in order to reconstruct their ecological evolution over the past several hundred years. A multi-proxy and multi-site approach was applied in order to disentangle the effects of local anthropogenic forcings, such as nutrients, and climate impacts on the two lakes and their catchments. 2. 2. Historical patterns of globalization : the growth of outward linkages of Swedish long-standing transnational corporations, 1890s-1990s

    Författare :Richard Palmer; Lennart Schön; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; foreign employment; foreign sales; foreign subsidiaries; globalization; history; Sweden; Swedish economy; transnational corporations TNCs .; Economic History; ekonomisk historia;

    Sammanfattning : The study addresses the outward cross-border linking of the Swedish economy and its most important transnational corporations during the 20th century. It explores the aggregate level of Swedish industry, and most importantly, the firm level of a group of eight long-standing transnational corporations, which during the post-1945 period represented roughly half of Sweden’s foreign industrial activity in terms of employment, e. 3. 3. Numerical models for degradation of concrete in hydraulic structures due to long-term contact with water

    Författare :Daniel Eriksson; Anders Ansell; Richard Malm; Erik Nordström; Katja Fridh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; degradation; deterioration mechanisms; hydraulic structures; air-entrained concrete; multiphase model; long-term moisture conditions; pore size distribution; freezing; partially saturated; finite element method; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The durability of concrete is of major concern in all types of concrete structures where the combined effect of exposure conditions and the type and quality of the concrete material usually determines the rate of degradation. Furthermore, there are synergy effects between different deterioration mechanisms, which means that the combined rate of degradation is higher than the sum of the individual rates of each mechanism. 4. 4. Molecular analysis of lake-sediment organic matter : long-term dynamics and environmental implications in boreal lakes

    Författare :Sofia Ninnes; Richard Bindler; Xiao-Ru Wang; Christian Bigler; Hendrik Vogel; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Lake sediment; Holocene; organic matter; Pyrolysis-GC MS; mid-infrared spectroscopy; boreal;

    Sammanfattning : Lake sediment organic matter is material composed of residues from plants, algae, animals, fungi and bacteria. Its molecular composition is dependent on the sources as well as secondary biotic and abiotic transformations, which combined generates a highly complex matrix. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Engagemang efterfrågas: Hur tre tillverkande företag söker medverkan från sina medarbetare när de inför Lean

    Författare :Richard Berglund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; commitment; participation; involvement; change; improvement; management; lean; production; manufacturing; case study;

    Sammanfattning : Organizations and their management want committed and engaged co-workers. Involvement, participation and active contribution from workers are particularly sought when lean production is introduced. LÄS MER
