  1. 1. Resource Conservative Manufacturing : New Generation of Manufacturing

    Författare :Farazee Mohammad Abdullah Asif; Mihai Nicolescu; Carmine Bianchi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Resource Conservative Manufacturing; Multiple Lifecycle; System Dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : The question of resource scarcity and emerging pressure of environmentallegislations have put the manufacturing industry with a new challenge. On theone side, there is a huge population that demands a large quantity ofcommodities, on the other side, these demands have to be met by minimumresources and with permissible pollution that the earth’s ecosystem can handle. 2. 2. On Manufacturing Strategies : Competing Through Inter-Organizational Collaboration

    Författare :Mats Winroth; Terje Kristoffer Lien; Högskolan i Jönköping; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Manufacturing Strategies; collaborative settings; manufacturing systems; Manufacturing engineering and work sciences; Produktion och arbetsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Globalization increases the competition among small and medium sized companies. It is possible for their customers, often large systems integrators, to choose suppliers from all around the world. Swedish suppliers are often not competitive only regarding cost consequently simple work tasks are more and more located in low wage countries. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Managing Interruptions in Manufacturing : Towards a Theoretical Framework for Interruptions in Manufacturing Assembly

    Författare :Ari Kolbeinsson; Dan Högberg; Peter Thorvald; Jessica Lindblom; Steve Summerskill; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Interruptions; Manufacturing; Mobile Devices; Cognition; Technology; Teknik; User Centred Product Design; Användarcentrerad produktdesign;

    Sammanfattning : The effect of interruptions from ICT systems on assembly workers in manufacturing is examined in this thesis, as is how the risks of errors, increases in assembly time, increased cognitive load and resultant stress can be mitigated, as well as ensuring that important new information is acted upon. To these ends, a literature study was conducted, followed by two studies using an experimental approach in an environment that simulated a manufacturing assembly situation, and used tasks designed to be representative of manufacturing assembly tasks. Sammanfattning : This thesis discusses the issue of manufacturing strategies. Many articles and books on this matter have been published during the last 30 years, the majority being focused on American or British companies. Research on the formulation and implicationof manufacturing strategies in Swedish companies, however, is limited. LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Many large companies have for a long time been very successful in their industries by combining leading edge R&D and marketing with strong internal manufacturing capabilities. An alternative model is now getting increased attention, where R&D and marketing is conducted internally and manufacturing performed by outsourcing partners. LÄS MER
