  1. 11. Motion Vision Processing in Fly Lobula Plate Tangential Cells

    Författare :Yu-Jen Lee; Karin Nordström; Holger Kraap; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; hoverflies; EMD; higher order motion; octopamine; cSIFE; figure-ground discrimination; motion vision; lobula plate tangential cells;

    Sammanfattning : Flies are highly visually guided animals. In this thesis, I have used hoverflies as a model for studying motion vision. Flies process motion vision in three visual ganglia: the lamina, the medulla, and the lobula complex. In the posterior part of lobula complex, there are around 60 lobula plate tangential cells (LPTCs). LÄS MER

  2. 12. Tracking and radar sensor modelling for automotive safety systems

    Författare :Lars Danielsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; motion models; automotive safety systems; sensor data fusion; radar sensor models; extended target tracking;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis studies the problem of tracking in the setting of an automotive safety system. In particular, it considers the problem of estimating the surrounding traffic situation using observations from radar sensors. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Nuclear magnetic resonance and microcirculation: The influence of pulsatile brain-tissue motion on measurements of intravoxel incoherent motion and assessment of haemodynamics using exo- and endogenous tracers

    Författare :Ronnie Wirestam; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; diagnostic radiology; cortical activation; diffusion; tumor; tumour; ischemic stroke; ischaemic stroke; tracer kinetics; bolus tracking; phase mapping; brain motion; intracranial dynamics; blood flow; haemodynamics; vascularity; MRS; perfusion; MRI; magnetic resonance; Clinical physics; radiology; tomography; medical instrumentation; Klinisk fysiologi; radiologi; tomografi; medicinsk instrumentering;

    Sammanfattning : In this project, the potential of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and spectroscopy in studies of microcirculation and haemodynamics was evaluated. The spatial and temporal characteristics of human pulsatile brain-tissue movements in healthy individuals, relevant for the understanding of the cerebrospinal-fluid (CSF) circulation and the pathogenesis of hydrocephalus, were thoroughly investigated. 4. 14. Model Based Coding : Initialization, Parameter Extraction and Evaluation

    Författare :Zhengrong Yao; Haibo Li; Ralf Schäfer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Signalbehandling; Model-based coding; Motion estimation; Vision based tracking; Initialization; Analysis-by-Synthesis; Texture mapping; Active tracking.; Signalbehandling; Signal processing; Signalbehandling; Signal Processing; signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis covers topics relevant to model-based coding. Model-based coding is a promising very low bit rate video coding technique. The idea behind this technique is to parameterize a talking head and to extract and transmit the parameters describing facial movements. At the receiver, the parameters are used to reconstruct the talking head. LÄS MER

  5. 15. 3D Gesture Recognition and Tracking for Next Generation of Smart Devices : Theories, Concepts, and Implementations

    Författare :Shahrouz Yousefi; Haibo Li; Touradj Ebrahimi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; 3D gestural interaction; gesture recognition; gesture tracking; 3D visualization; 3D motion analysis; augmented environments; Media Technology; Medieteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The rapid development of mobile devices during the recent decade has been greatly driven by interaction and visualization technologies. Although touchscreens have signicantly enhanced the interaction technology, it is predictable that with the future mobile devices, e.g. LÄS MER
