  1. 1. Controllable Multi-dimensional Filters and Models in Low-Level Computer Vision

    Författare :Mats T. Andersson; Gösta Granlund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns robust estimation of low-level features for use in computer vision systems. The presentation consists of two parts.The first part deals with controllable filters and models. A basis filter set is introduced which supports a computationally efficient synthesis of filters in arbitrary orientations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Asymmetrical Flow Field-Flow Fractionation and Multiangle Light Scattering for Molar Mass Analysis of Polysaccharide Derivatives

    Författare :Mats Andersson; Industriell Produktion; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polysaccharide derivatives ethylhydroxyethyl cellulose; molar mass analysis; asymmetrical flow field-flow fractionation; multiangle light scattering; polymer size distribution; Polymer technology; biopolymers; Polymerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Molar mass and molar mass distribution of polymers are parameters of fundamental importance as they influence the performance of the polymer in applications. Polysaccharide derivatives are a class of polymers that have attracted significant scientific and commercial interest as they can be manufactured from a wide range of abundant sources in nature and thereby often are both cheap and biocompatible. 3. 3. Development of laser spectroscopy for scattering media applications

    Författare :Mats Andersson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Laserteknik; Laser technology; Atom- och molekylärfysik; Atomic and molecular physics; Fysik; Physics; coherent sampling; optical sensor; light absorption; noninvasive measurement; diode laser; scattering of light; laser spectroscopy; fluorescence spectroscopy; remote sensing; Lidar; DIAL;

    Sammanfattning : Laser spectroscopy for both large and small spatial scales has been developed and used in various applications ranging from remote monitoring of atmospheric mercury in Spain to investigation of oxygen contents in wood, human sinuses, fruit, and pharmaceutical solids. Historically, the lidar group in Lund has performed many differential absorption lidar (DIAL) measurements with a mobile lidar system that was first described in 1987. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mathematical Reasoning : In physics and real-life context

    Författare :Helena Johansson; Mats Andersson; Jesper Boesen; Morten Blomhøj; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Creative mathematical reasoning; Descriptive statistics; Differential item functioning; Figurative context; Imitative reasoning; Mathematical Reasoning Requirements; Mathematics tasks; National tests; Physics tasks; Real-life context; T-test; Upper secondary school; Creative mathematical reasoning; Descriptive statistics; Differential item functioning; Figurative context; Imitative reasoning; Mathematical Reasoning Requirements; Mathematics tasks; National tests; Physics tasks; Real-life context; T-test; Upper secondary school;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is a compilation of four papers in which mathematical reasoning is examined in various contexts, in which mathematics is an integral part. It is known from previous studies that a focus on rote learning and procedural mathematical reasoning hamper students’ learning of mathematics. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Defensins and cytokines in inflammatory bowel disease

    Författare :Arman Rahman; Mats Andersson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : Ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease (CD) constitute the two major inflammatory bowel diseases in man. Both are serious chronic illnesses of the intestine with severe debilitating effects. The etiology of the diseases is unknown, but involvement of both adaptive and innate immune reactions seems to be major factors in the pathogenesis. LÄS MER
