1. Efficient treatment of forest industrial wastewaters : Energy efficiency and resilience during disturbances
Sammanfattning : This work concerns the efficient treatment of wastewaters from pulp and paper mills by means of aerobic biological processes. For treatment processes there are many aspects of efficiency and the present study investigates both energy efficiency and purification efficiency during disturbances. LÄS MER
2. Studies to Avoid Decreased Efficiency in Multiple Stage Biological Wastewater Treatment Plants: Concerning Forests Industry Effluents
3. Deciphering sequence data : A multivariate approach
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, attention has been focused on the quantitative description of nucleic acids, proteins and peptides. The strategy was to use multivariate chemometrical methods for improving the understanding of the complex structural codes of these kinds of biological molecules. LÄS MER
4. A person-centred approach to support family caregivers in specialised home care : The Carer Support Needs Assessment Tool Intervention
Sammanfattning : Family caregivers are crucial providers of support and care for patients with lifethreatening illness and many report unmet support needs. With the use of quantitative and qualitative methods this thesis aimed to evaluate the Carer Support Needs Assessment Tool (CSNAT) and explore experiences and potential effects of utilising the Carer Support Needs Assessment Tool Intervention (CSNAT-I) among family caregivers and registered nurses in the context of specialised home care. 5. Contralateral breast cancer : risk and prognosis
Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis was to investigate different aspects of contralateral breast cancer. This disease is of increasing importance as the mortality of breast cancer is decreasing while the incidence remains very high, consequently the population at risk for non-simultaneous (metachronous) contralateral breast cancer is increasing.
