  1. 11. A Multichoice Control Strategy for a VSC-HVdc

    Författare :Hector F. Latorre; Mehrdad Ghandhari; Lennart Söder; Kjetil Uhlen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Control Lyapunov Function; Modal Analysis; Power Oscillation Damping; Transient Stability; Voltage Stability; VSC-HVdc; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Utilization of power electronics based controllable systems (or devices) in transmission systems has opened new opportunities for the power industry to optimize utilization of the existing transmission systems, and at the same time to keep high system reliability and security. As a member of these controllable systems, Voltage Source Converters-based High Voltage direct current (VSC-HVdc) systems have the ability to rapidly control the transmitted active power, and also to independently exchange reactive power with transmissions systems. 2. 12. Input-Output Stability Analysis of Networked Control Systems

    Författare :Johannes Nygren; Kristiaan Pelckmans; Torkel Glad; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Networked control systems; L2-stability; quantization; delay; packet dropouts; switching systems; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Sammanfattning : The main focus of the thesis is to derive stability criteria for networked control system (NCS) models featuring imperfections such as time-varying and constant delays, quantization, packet dropouts, and non-uniform sampling intervals. The main method of proof is based on matrix algebra, as opposed to methods using Lyapunov functions or integral quadratic constraints (IQC). LÄS MER

  3. 13. On Observer-Based Control of Nonlinear Systems

    Författare :Anders Robertsson; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Observers; Output feedback; Separation principle; The Positive Real lemma; Kalman filter; Backstepping; Robotics; Automation; Chained form systems; reglerteknik; robotteknik; Automatiska system; control engineering; Lyapunov stability; Nonlinear systems; State estimation;

    Sammanfattning : Filtering and reconstruction of signals play a fundamental role in modern signal processing, telecommunications, and control theory and are used in numerous applications. The feedback principle is an important concept in control theory. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Control and Analysis of Pulse-Modulated Systems

    Författare :Stefan Almér; Ulf Jönsson; Gilead Tadmor; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Pulse-width modulation; Periodic systems; Stability analysis; Harmonic analysis; Lyapunov methods; Dynamic phasors; Harmonic transfer function; Switched mode power converters; Sampled data modeling; H-infinity synthesis; Optimization; systems theory; Optimeringslära; systemteori;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of an introduction and four appended papers. In the introduction we give an overview of pulse-modulated systems and provide a few examples of such systems. Furthermore, we introduce the so-called dynamic phasor model which is used as a basis for analysis in two of the appended papers. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Nonlinear Model-based Control of Automotive Powertrains

    Författare :Jonas Fredriksson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; stability; diesel engine control; nonlinear control; gearshifting; air-to-fuel ratio control; drive- line oscillations; backstepping; powertrain modeling; powertrain control;

    Sammanfattning : In recent years the focus of powertrain control has shifted perspective from control of the individual powertrain components to control of the complete powertrain, so-called integrated powertrain control. The idea presented in this thesis is to view the powertrain as one single control object and to used the engine as a torque actuator to the rest of the driveline. LÄS MER
