  1. 11. Gene Expression in mESC Deficient in FGFR Signalling and the Identification of the Novel Gene Ened

    Författare :Renata Gustafsson; Muskelbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; embryonic stem cells; differentiation; FGF FGFR signalling; gene expression; microarray; Ened; early embryonic development;

    Sammanfattning : Embryonic stem cells (ESCs) are derived from the inner cell mass (ICM) of blastocyst stage embryos, and upon differentiation into embryoid bodies (EBs) they recapitulate the genetic, cellular and morphological events occurring in early embryogenesis. Among several signalling pathways and inductive factors, the fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) and their receptors (FGFRs) have been shown to be important during early embryogenesis. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Fibroblast growth factor-induced signal transduction

    Författare :Peter Klint; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Biochemistry; Biokemi; Biochemistry; Biokemi; molekylär cellbiologi; Molecular Cellbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Fibroblast growth factors (FGFs) evoke cellular responses by binding to FGF receptors (FGFRs). FGFRs are cell surface expressed membrane-spanning receptors with intrinsic stimulatable tyrosine kinase activity. This thesis describes the cell proliferation or differentiation. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Specification of Dorsal and Intermediate Telencephalic Character

    Författare :Matthew Marklund; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Molecular biology; telencephalon; forebrain; dorsoventral patterning; WNT; FGF; RA; retinoid-mediated signaling; development; specification; cortex; striatal; intermediate; Molekylärbiologi; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : The telencephalon is the most highly evolved region of the vertebrate central nervous system (CNS). The major structures of the telencephalon - the cortex and basal ganglia – derive from the dorsally positioned pallium and the ventrally positioned subpallium, respectively. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Bile acid metabolism in humans : regulation of synthesis and circadian rhythms

    Författare :Amani Al-Khaifi; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Interfering with bile acids (BAs) signaling within the enterohepatic circulation (EHC) has recently emerged as an important way of controlling human metabolic homeostasis. This is highly relevant to a number of frequent disease entities such as dyslipidemia, fatty liver disease, insulin resistance, obesity, type 2 diabetes, gallstone disease and BA-induced diarrhea.
