  1. 36. Improving interpretation by orthogonal variation : Multivariate analysis of spectroscopic data

    Författare :Hans Stenlund; Johan Trygg; Tom Fearn; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; OPLS; PLS; Multivariate Analysis; Orthogonal variation; Chemometrics; hyperspectral images; FTIR; NIR; spectroscopy; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The desire to use the tools and concepts of chemometrics when studying problems in the life sciences, especially biology and medicine, has prompted chemometricians to shift their focus away from their field‘s traditional emphasis on model predictivity and towards the more contemporary objective of optimizing information exchange via model interpretation. The complex data structures that are captured by modern advanced analytical instruments open up new possibilities for extracting information from complex data sets. LÄS MER

  2. 37. Self-concept, inner residue of past relationships and current social functioning. : A study of age and gender differences in normal and antisocial adolescents

    Författare :Helene Östgård-Ybrandt; Bengt-Åke Armelius; Rolf Holmqvist; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Self-concept; early parental behavior; adolescence; normal; antisocial; SASB; EMBU; YSR; DICA-R; path-analysis; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents several studies of normative development in adolescence, focusing specifically on internalized perceptions of parents’ early behavior and how these perceptions affect the self-concept and social functioning during. Questions of possible age and gender differences in relation to perceptions of self-concept and early parental behavior are addressed. LÄS MER

  3. 38. Microfluidic bead-based methods for DNA analysis

    Författare :Aman Russom; Ulf Gyllensten; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; single nucleotide polymorphism; DNA analysis; SNP; microfluidics; pyrosequencing; beads; lab on a chip; hybridization; DASH; microsystem; micro totat analysis system; allele-specific extension; DASH; microcontact printing; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik;

    Sammanfattning : With the completion of the human genome sequencing project, attention is currently shifting toward understanding how genetic variation, such as single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP), leads to disease. To identify, understand, and control biological mechanisms of living organisms, the enormous amounts of accumulated sequence information must be coupled to faster, cheaper, and more powerful technologies for DNA, RNA, and protein analysis. 4. 39. Swedish management in Singapore: a discourse analysis study

    Författare :Cheryl Marie Cordeiro-Nilsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Swedish management; discourse analysis; grounded theory; critical discourse analysis; Singapore management; Sweden; Singapore; systemics functional linguistics;

    Sammanfattning : The concept of Scandinavian management as a specialized field of interest, began in the early 1980s with a variety of methods, including quantitative questionnaires, surveys, case studies and narratives within the organization. This dissertation uses discourse analysis as a tool for studying Swedish management characteristics outside of Scandinavia, mainly in Singapore. LÄS MER
