1. Proton Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in Brain Tumors - Clinical Applications
Sammanfattning : Aims: · to present a test phantom and test method for evaluation of proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS) single volume localization techniques regarding signal contamination; · to describe the introduction of 1H-MRS in the daily routine of a standard MR-unit; · to evaluate the possibilities offered by 1H-MRS to improve preoperative diagnostic accuracy in patients scheduled for stereotactic biopsy of intracranial mass lesions; · to evaluate the possibilities offered by 1H-MRS to improve diagnostics and therapy control in patients with brain abscesses; · to test the hypothesis that 1H-MRS might be useful for differentiation of brain tumors, based on metabolic changes in tissue across brain lesions or surrounding tissue. Results and conclusions: · The test phantom and test method allow quality assessment with good reproducibility. LÄS MER
2. Diffusion MRI of Small Ischemic Brain Lesions: Technical aspects, clinical experiences and diagnostic criteria
Sammanfattning : Purpose: To compare the visualization of small ischemic brain lesions using diffusion using diffusion-weighted (DW) MRI and conventional imaging, with special regard to diagnostic efficiency. Imaging features of lesions of different ages, diagnostic limitations and technical principles were also investigated. LÄS MER
3. HER2-receptor quantification in breast cancer patients by imaging with ABY-025 Affibody and PET
Sammanfattning : Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women worldwide. Human epidermal growth factor receptor type 2 (HER2) is overexpressed in up to 20% of breast cancer cases and is considered an important prognostic factor and a therapeutic target. LÄS MER
4. CD93 in regulation of vascular function and tumour progression
Sammanfattning : To achieve successful vascular targeting in cancer, a better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that lead to tumour vascular abnormalities is required. The transmembrane protein CD93 is highly expressed in the vasculature of several tumours including glioblastoma and has emerged as a potential anti-angiogenic target. LÄS MER
5. The Role of SOX9 in Medulloblastoma
Sammanfattning : Medulloblastoma (MB) is the most common malignant pediatric brain tumor. Overall survival is about 70% and in cases where current treatment fails, the disease recurs and most often is fatal. At the molecular level, MB can be divided into four defined subgroups: WNT, SHH, Group 3 and Group 4. LÄS MER
