1. Groundless knowledge : a Humean solution to the problem of skepticism
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present study is to develop a solution to the problem of skepticism about the external world ("skepticism", for short), inspired primarily by Hume's "skeptical solution" to the problem of skepticism about induction, but also by epistemological externalism and Wittgenstein's discussion of skeptical doubts in On Certainty. It provides original answers to these questions that move the current discussion of blame forward. LÄS MER
5. Minimal Optimism : Reading P. F. Strawson on Responsibility
Sammanfattning : Peter Strawson’s ‘Freedom and Resentment’ (1962) has reoriented the way moral philosophers think about responsibility. There is a general sense that Strawson’s approach holds the promise that we may move beyond the traditional discussion of free will in recognition of the fact that whether determinism is true is irrelevant for whether we are responsible beings.
