16. Structural Information and Hidden Markov Models for Biological Sequence Analysis
Sammanfattning : Bioinformatics is a fast-developing field, which makes use of computational methods to analyse and structure biological data. An important branch of bioinformatics is structure and function prediction of proteins, which is often based on finding relationships to already characterized proteins. LÄS MER
17. NMR STUDIES ON STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS OF TWO-DOMAIN PROTEINS
Sammanfattning : The general objective of the present thesis work was to examine 3-dimensional structure as well as the motional properties of two different types of two-domain proteins by solution-state NMR. One of the major tasks of this thesis work was to investigate the domain orientation of these molecules by employing residual dipolar couplings (RDC) which can be used as orientational restraints for increasing the accuracy of protein structures determined by NMR. 18. Towards Reliable and Accurate Global Structure-from-Motion
Sammanfattning : Reconstruction of objects or scenes from sparse point detections across multiple views is one of the most tackled problems in computer vision. Given the coordinates of 2D points tracked in multiple images, the problem consists of estimating the corresponding 3D points and cameras' calibrations (intrinsic and pose), and can be solved by minimizing reprojection errors using bundle adjustment. 19. Exploring the multiscale 3D architecture of human chromosome contact networks
Sammanfattning : Cells regulate genes to coordinate essential functions allowing cells to grow, divide, specialize, and respond to stresses. While regulatory proteins are the most common way to control these genes, the DNA’s 3D structure also plays a critical role as it affects how proteins access genes and how regulatory DNA elements interact over large genomic distances. 20. Nano-particulate Silica Hydrogels Imaged in 2D and 3D using TEM: Effects of local pore structure on mass transport and applications in aggregation dynamics
Sammanfattning : Porous materials are frequently used in everyday applications including food science, pharmaceuticals, fuel cell membranes, batteries and solar cells. A key aspect in these porous materials is how their micro- and nano-structure affect the internal transport of for example water, particles or charges. The transport is a three-dimensional process.
