21. Studies of protein structure, dynamics and protein-ligand interactions using NMR spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : In the first part of the thesis, protein-ligand interactions were investigated using the chaperone LcrH, from Yersinia as target protein. The structure of a peptide encompassing the amphipathic domain (residue 278-300) of the protein YopD from Yersinia was determined by NMR in 40% TFE. LÄS MER
22. Seismological Investigation of Katla Volcanic System (Iceland) : 3D Velocity Structure and Overall Seismicity Pattern
Sammanfattning : The work in this thesis concentrates on Katla volcano in southern Iceland. This is one of Europe’s most active volcanoes and its history tells us that it poses many threats to society, both locally (Iceland) and on a broader scale (Europe). LÄS MER
23. View Planning and Refractive Modeling for Structure and Motion
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents contributions to structure-and-motion estimation, a central topic in the field of geometric computer vision. In particular, the problem of view planning is considered, and continuous and discrete optimization-based algorithms are given for how to plan the path of a sensor to its destination, while balancing the competing goals of path length and reconstruction accuracy. 24. Visualisation and Generalisation of 3D City Models
Sammanfattning : 3D city models have been widely used in various applications such as urban planning, traffic control, disaster management etc. Efficient visualisation of 3D city models in different levels of detail (LODs) is one of the pivotal technologies to support these applications. LÄS MER
25. Utilizing Biopolymers in 3D Tumor Modeling and Tumor Diagnosis
Sammanfattning : Cancer represents a significant global public health challenge and ranks as the second mostcommon cause of death in the United States. The onset of cancer entails an initial phasewhere cells lose their polarity and disconnect from the normal basement membrane, allowingthem to form distinct three-dimensional (3D) configurations that interact with adjacent cellsand the surrounding microenvironment.
