  1. 1. Metabolic communication between individual yeast cells

    Författare :Martin Mojica Benavides; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Metabolic synchronization; Single-cell; glycolytic oscillations; synchronization waves;

    Sammanfattning : With the recent progress in sensitive cell manipulation and microfabrication techniques, glycolytic oscillations in yeast have been observed at a single-cell level. It was shown that individually, oscillating cells could entrain their phases by periodic external perturbations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Linear, Non-Linear, and Synchronizing Spin Wave Modes in Spin Hall Nano-Oscillators

    Författare :Hamid Mazraati; Johan Åkerman; Dario Arena; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spin Hall effect; spin Hall nano-oscillators; threshold current; microwave; spin wave; synchronization; Fysik; Physics;

    Sammanfattning : Spin Hall nano-oscillators (SHNOs) are nanoscale spintronic devices that generate microwave signals with highly tunable frequency. This thesis focuses on improving the signal quality of nanoconstriction-based SHNOs and also on developing a better understanding of their magnetization dynamics. LÄS MER

  3. 3. A Play of Light and Spins: Excitation and Detection of Non-linear Magnetization Dynamics using Light

    Författare :Shreyas Muralidhar; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spin waves; laser-induced magnetization dynamics; Brillouin light scattering; Spin Hall nano-oscillators; neuromorphic computing; Ising machines;

    Sammanfattning : The excitation and detection of magnetization dynamics play key roles in the field of spintronics and magnonics. In this thesis, we investigate a contactless method of exciting nonlinear magnetization dynamics using a femtosecond pulsed laser, and study the same with a Brillouin Light Scattering (BLS) microscope.
