  1. 1. Numerical ice sheet modeling Forward and inverse problems

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Gong Cheng; Uppsala universitet.; Uppsala universitet.; [2019]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ice sheet modeling; finite element method; grounding line migration; inverse problems; adjoint method; Scientific Computing; Beräkningsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Ice sheets have strong influence on the climate system. Numerical simulation provides a mathematical tool to study the ice dynamics in the past and to predict their contribution to climate change in the future. Large scale ice sheets behave as incompressible non-Newtonian fluid. LÄS MER

  2. 2. PDEModelica – A High-Level Language for Modeling with Partial Differential Equations

    Detta är en avhandling från Institutionen för datavetenskap

    Författare :Levon Saldamli; Peter Fritzson; Bernhard Bachmann; Francesco di Casella; [2006]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mathematical modeling; PDEModelica; Modelica; object-oriented modeling; equation-based modeling; declarative modeling; high-level modeling languages; mathematical modeling languages; TECHNOLOGY Information technology Computer science; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Informationsteknik Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis describes work on a new high-level mathematical modeling language and framework called PDEModelica for modeling with partial differential equations. It is an extension to the current Modelica modeling language for object-oriented, equation-based modeling based on differential and algebraic equations. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Numerical modeling of dielectrophoresis

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : KTH

    Författare :Yuan Lin; KTH.; [2006]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; dielectrophoresis; orientation of rotation; fluid particle dynamics; microparticle; molecular dynamics; hydrodynamics; particle-particle interaction; superimposed; mobility; TECHNOLOGY Engineering mechanics Fluid mechanics; TEKNIKVETENSKAP Teknisk mekanik Strömningsmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : We investigate the dielectrophoretic separation of microparticles. Two different models are formulated in two characteristic time scales. The first model mainly accounts for the orientation behavior and rotational motion of non-spheric microparticles. The concept of effective charge is suggested to calculate the finite size non-spheric particles. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Numerical Modeling of Atomization in Spray Systems

    Detta är en avhandling från Gothenburg : Chalmers tekniska högskola

    Författare :Michele Pütz; [2019]
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; spray modeling; quadrature-based moment methods; atomization; numerical simulation; Multiphase; population balance equations;

    Sammanfattning : Dispersed multiphase flows refer to dynamic systems comprising two or more phases where at least one phase is in the form of fine particles evolving in and interacting with a surrounding fluid. Spray systems fall into that category. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On dental ceramics and their fracture a laboratory and numerical study

    Detta är en avhandling från Umeå : Umeå universitet

    Författare :Wen Kou; Umeå universitet.; [2010]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Dental ceramics; Finite element analysis; Fixed partial denture; Fracture; Numerical modeling; Surface treatment; ODONTOLOGY Biomaterials; ODONTOLOGI Biomaterial; odontologi; Odontology;

    Sammanfattning : Background Surface treatments and irregularities in the surfaces may affect the fracture of ceramics. The effects of various treatments on the surface texture of different types of ceramic cores/substructures was therefore qualitatively, quantitatively and numerically evaluated. LÄS MER
