    Sammanfattning : Porous phase-separated ethylcellulose/hydroxypropylcellulose (EC/HPC) films are used to control drug transport out of pharmaceutical pellets. The drug transport rate is determined by the structure of the porous films that are formed as the water-soluble HPC leaches out. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Resulting from the general availability of first-row transition metals, compared to their second- and third-row counterparts, photosensitizers (PSs) based on metals like iron have gained interest as candidates to enable photochemistry from solar energy, a largely underutilized energy source. Iron complexes equivalent to other metal complexes, currently being used as PS, do lack some of the advantageous properties required to challenge the established PSs. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis research on synthesis, microstructure and properties of carbide-based coatings is reported. These coatings are electrically conducting, and can be tailored for high hardness, low friction and wear, along with load-adaptive behaviour. Aqueous solutions of sulfate, sulfite, thiosulfate, peroxysulfate, selenite, selenate, hypochlorite, chlorite, chlorate, perchlorate, bromate, iodate and periodate salts were studied using large angle X-ray scattering (LAXS) and extended X-ray absorption fine structure (EXAFS) spectroscopy. However, the final industrialisation of these materials depends on unlocking fundamental questions about the relationship between their atomic structure, localized proton dynamics and proton conductivity.
