21. Even flows and deferred lives: The logistification of migrant settlement in Sweden
Sammanfattning : In 2016, rebuilt containers and barracks accommodating so-called ‘newly arrived immigrants’ started to appear in Stockholm, Sweden. People who had been on the move for an extensive time, staying in refugee camps, and transit, reception and asylum centres, found themselves again in a state of deferral, this time within the refuge of the nation-state. Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the thesis is to investigate how schools’ formal and informal structures affect the pedagogical and social inclusion of newly arrived students, as well as how newly arrived students in grades 7-9 and school staff themselves understand and handle these structures. Sammanfattning : This dissertation aims to investigate the social situation at school for students that have migrated to Sweden during their last four years at compulsory school or during upper secondary school. The study investigates the social interaction between students with a special focus on the possibilities and hindrances for inclusion of the newcomer immigrant students in different groupings at school, and the ways these students handle possibilities and hindrances for social inclusion. Sammanfattning : General aim: To explore employment and mental health among people from Bosnia-Herzegovina who came to Sweden in 1993-1994 due to the war.
