1. Mellan policy och praktik : En studie om nyanlända elevers pedagogiska och sociala inkludering i skolan
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the thesis is to investigate how schools’ formal and informal structures affect the pedagogical and social inclusion of newly arrived students, as well as how newly arrived students in grades 7-9 and school staff themselves understand and handle these structures. Formal structures refer to forms of pedagogical measures for newly arrived students. LÄS MER
2. In the Shadow of Settlement : Multiple Rebel Groups and Precarious Peace
Sammanfattning : How can durable peace be achieved in the wake of a civil war settlement? Previous quantitative research on this topic has, so far, mainly focused on two parties – the government and the opposition – thereby failing to consider the complexity that may arise in conflicts where the rebel side involves several groups. This dissertation addresses this gap in the study of durable peace. LÄS MER
3. Topics on Harmonic analysis and Multilinear Algebra
Sammanfattning : The present thesis consists of six different papers. Indeed, they treat three different research areas: function spaces, singular integrals and multilinear algebra. In paper I, a characterization of continuity of the $p$-$\Lambda$-variation function is given and Helly's selection principle for $\Lambda BV^{(p)}$ functions is established. LÄS MER
4. Simulation of Core-Level Spectra of H-bonded Systems
Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of three related projects where attempts have been made to simulate X-Ray Absorption (XAS) spectra of water and hexagonal ice, static non-resonant X-ray Emission (XES) spectrum of water and to apply the semi-classical approximation to Kramers-Heisenberg formula (SCKH) formalism to calculate the non-resonant XES spectrum of water and methanol. The first project is devoted to an investigation of the performance of damped response theory in combination with the DFT electronic structure method (CPP-DFT) in XAS spectrum simulations of liquid water. 5. Charge Transport Simulations for Organic Electronics : A Kinetic Monte Carlo Approach
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we focus on the modelling and simulation of organic electronic devices, investigating their structural and electronic properties. Organic devices have attracted great interest for their innovative properties, but their functioning still represent a theoretical and technological challenge. LÄS MER
