21. Health-related quality of life in patients with pacemakers. A descriptive and experimental study
Sammanfattning : The general aim of this thesis was to describe and evaluate the health-relatedquality of life (HRQoL) of patients with pacemakers, as well as to determine theeffects of a nurse-led intervention regarding health-related quality of life in theform of a self-care program for these patients. Sammanfattning : Background: Previous studies have reported negative experiences of psychiatric inpatient care for patients with emotional instability and self-harm. A novel intervention called patient-initiated brief admission (PIBA) has been developed, as a constructive crisis management for patients in situations of increased anxiety and thoughts of self-harm and suicide. 24. Lateral epicondylalgia A new structured treatment program with an inter-disciplinary approach
Sammanfattning : Conclusion: Interdisciplinary cooperation in the treatment of patients with acute lateral epicondylalgia benefits the patients by shortening the rehabilitation period and provides health care professionals the opportunity for an improved learning and exchanging experiences. There was a strong will to cooperate and the risks of side effects with corticosteroid injections and NSAID are well-known although they are the most common treatments. LÄS MER
25. Pain and pain management with femoral nerve block following hip fracture : effects and experiences: the perspective of older patients and staff
Sammanfattning : Background: Older people with hip fractures are often frail with several comorbidities and roughly half of them have dementia disorders. Pain is common among patients with hip fracture and pain management in these patients is a challenge. Opioids are known to relieve pain while at rest but are not as effective in movement. LÄS MER
