  1. 16. Measurement and Application of Multidirectional Mobilities

    Författare :Michael A. Sanderson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; source signal filtering; mass loading; rotational mobility; rotational inertia loading; multidirectional mechanical mobility; moment mobility; structural intensity; measurement techniques; vibration isolation;

    Sammanfattning : The direct measurement of moment mobility, employing a twin exciter technique, is theoretically and experimentally examined. This is continued by a theoretical and experimental analysis of an improved technique using source signal filtering, for two degrees of freedom, for the measurement of multidirectional mobilities. 2. 17. Theoretical Investigation into Longitudinal Dispersion in Natural Rivers — A Scaling Dispersion Model

    Författare :Zhi-Qiang Deng; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; soil mechanics; Väg- och vattenbyggnadsteknik; Environmental technology; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; offshore technology; hydraulic engineering; Civil engineering; Scaling dispersion.; Parameter estimation; Numerical scheme; Dispersion coefficient; Natural river;

    Sammanfattning : Using a broad variety of scientific methods this dissertation systematically investigates the fundamental mechanisms underlying the dispersion processes in natural rivers and their mathematical descriptions in a geometrical framework. Emphasis is on the geometrical variations and irregularities of a natural river and their scales. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Hidden Markov models - Traffic modeling and subspace methods

    Författare :Sofia Andersson; Matematisk statistik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; programming; actuarial mathematics; Statistik; operationsanalys; Statistics; operations research; subspace identification; state space representation; likelihood estimation; Poissonification; traffic analysis; hidden Markov model; Markov-modulated Poisson process; programmering; aktuariematematik;

    Sammanfattning : The main motivation for this thesis, however not the only one, is the search for models for traffic in telecommunication networks. Traffic characterization and modeling are of great importance in the analysis and dimensioning of communication systems. During the last decades we have experienced an explosive growth of our telecommunication networks. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Analysis and Design of Base Station Antennas for Mobile Communications

    Författare :Björn Lindmark; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; polarization diversity; dual polarization; adaptive antennas; moment method; genetic algorithm; antenna arrays; radio propagation; channel sounding; aperture coupled patch;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis deals with base station antennas and the environment they work in. Polarization diversity, dual band operation, and adaptive antenna systems are discussed with emphasis on how antennas for these applications should be designed. We compare the polarization diversity performance of different types of dual polarized antenna elements. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Modeling and Model Reduction by Analytic Interpolation and Optimization

    Författare :Giovanna Fanizza; Anders Lindquist; György Michaletzky; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytic Interpolation theory with a degree constraint; rational covariance extension problem; spectral estimation; model reduction; optimization; passive system; Optimization; systems theory; Optimeringslära; systemteori;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of six papers. The main topic of all these papers is modeling a class of linear time-invariant systems. The system class is parameterized in the context of interpolation theory with a degree constraint. LÄS MER
