    Sammanfattning : Background: Among the instruments commonly used by occupational therapists working in the area of rehabilitation of persons with neurological disorders are evaluations of both occupation, such as activities of daily living (ADL), and body functions. While persons with neurological diagnoses typically have symptoms that represent diminished neurobehavioral functions, the resulting pattern of neurobehavioral impairments affecting ADL performance often differs among diagnostic groups.     Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to describe quality of care from different perspectives in the psychiatric setting, to develop an instrument for measuring quality of care from the in-patient perspective and to use this instrument empirically. A qualitative descriptive design involving a phenomenographic analysis was used in Studies I, III and IV, and a descriptive and comparative design with statistical analysis in Study II. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : The aims of this thesis were to investigate the quality of forensic psychiatric care, to describe the concept of patient participation from a patient and health care professional perspective, and to initiate the development of an instrument for measuring participation from a patient perspective.Forensic psychiatric care is a specialized form of care where patients who have committed a crime that would normally have led to prison, instead are treated for a serious mental disorder.     Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to assess the quality of life and quality of care from a patient perspective, in relation to IVF treatment. This was done by: - assessing infertile couples’ short-term emotional responses to their first IVF treatment, the relationship between partners at different stages of the first treatment, and differences/similarities between the reactions of men and women as to whether or not a pregnancy was achieved - investigating whether a male infertility diagnosis had any influence on men’s experience of infertility and its treatment, view of life, relationships, self-image and psychological well-being, when compared with men in couples where the diagnosis was female, mixed or unexplained infertility - developing a validated instrument (QPP-IVF) for measuring patient-centered quality of care in an IVF-programme for both men and women - investigating patient-centered quality of care during IVF treatments as evaluated by men and women Method: Papers I and II were part of a prospective, longitudinal study carried out between 1999 and 2002 at the Reproductive Medicine Unit, Sahlgrenska University Hospital.
