16. Hand-arm vibration and working women : Consequences and affecting factors
Sammanfattning : The use of hand-held vibrating tools may lead to hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), a condition with vascular, neurological and musculoskeletal symptoms. Vibrating tools are used in several occupations in which women can be found, e.g. by metal- and wood workers, drivers, and dental personnel. LÄS MER

Little is known about the effects this change in method might have on the outcomes of a longitudinal study. LÄS MER
18. Roller skis' rolling resistance and grip characteristics : influences on physiological and performance measures in cross-country skiers
Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to investigate roller ski characteristics; classical and freestyle roller skis’ rolling resistance coefficients (μR) and classical style roller skis’ static friction coefficients (μS), and to study the influence of different μR and μS on cross-country skiers’ performance and both physiological and biomechanical indices. The aim was also to study differences in skiing economy and efficiency between recreational skiers, female and male junior and senior elite cross-country skiers. LÄS MER
19. Cold air, physical activity, and the airways : epidemiological and experimental studies

20. Genetic Sex Differences in Early Human Neuronal Development : An Investigation in Embryo Tissue and Embryonic Stem Cells
Sammanfattning : Sex differences in the human body affect many different organs and tissues, some of them have an effect on the human brain and its development. In the developing nervous system, sex differences can bias the number or functionality of neurons, glial cells or synapses. As a result, neural networks might develop with a sex-specific bias. LÄS MER
