1. Absorption of vibration energy in the human hand and arm
Sammanfattning : The risk assessment of hand-arm transmitted vibration is today based on measurements of the magnitude, frequency spectra and duration of the vibration stimuli. It is, however, reasonable to assume that the detrimental effects might depend on the vibration energy absorbed by the hand and arm. LÄS MER
2. Hand-arm vibration and working women : Consequences and affecting factors
Sammanfattning : The use of hand-held vibrating tools may lead to hand-arm vibration syndrome (HAVS), a condition with vascular, neurological and musculoskeletal symptoms. Vibrating tools are used in several occupations in which women can be found, e.g. by metal- and wood workers, drivers, and dental personnel. LÄS MER
3. Risk of hearing loss from combined exposure to hand-arm vibrations and noise
Sammanfattning : Hearing loss from noise exposure is one of the most common occupational injuries, and exposure to vibrations may increase the risk of noise-induced hearing loss. Earlier cross-sectional and longitudinal studies found an increased risk of noise-induced hearing loss among workers with vibration-induced white fingers (VWF) symptoms compared to workers without such symptoms. 4. Effects of vibration on muscles in the neck and upper limbs : with focus on occupational terrain vehicle drivers
Sammanfattning : Introduction: Occupational drivers of terrain vehicles are exposed to several risk factors associated with musculoskeletal symptoms in the lower back as well as in the neck and upper limbs. Vibration has been suggested to be a main risk factor. These drivers are exposed to both whole-body vibration (WBV) and hand-arm vibration (HAV). LÄS MER
