12. Brain networks in time : deriving and quantifying dynamic functional connectivity
Sammanfattning : Studying the brain’s structure and function as a network has provided insight about the brain’s activity in health and disease. Networks in the brain are often averaged over trials, frequency and time and this is called functional connectivity. This thesis aims to extend the analyses beyond these assumptions and simplifications. LÄS MER
13. Cross-functional brain imaging of attention, memory, and executive functions : Unity and diversity of neurocognitive component processes
Sammanfattning : The central theme of the present thesis revolves around the exploration of similarities and differences in brain activity patterns invoked by the component processes underlying mnemonic, executive and attentional functions. The primary aim was to identify and functionally characterize commonly recruited brain regions in terms of shared component processes, which has been a largely neglected area of research in cognitive neuroscience.
