  1. 26. Receptor tyrosine kinase c-Kit signalling in hematopoietic progenitor cells

    Författare :Charlotte Edling; Bengt Hallberg; Pontus Aspenström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; RTK; c-Kit; MAPK; PI3K; PKC; hematopoietic cells; proliferation; differentiation; apoptosis; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : The receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) c-Kit is expressed in hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells, mast cells and in several non-hematopoietic tissues. In the hematopoietic system c-Kit and its ligand Steel Factor (SF, aka Stem Cell Factor) are critical for proliferation, survival and differentiation. LÄS MER

  2. 27. Development of Adenoviral Vectors for Studying Hematopoietic Stem Cell Function

    Författare :Marcus Järås; Institutionen för laboratoriemedicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor; extracellular fluids; hTERT; adenovirus; hematopoietic stem cells; Haematology;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) are defined by their capacity to self-renew and differentiate into all hematopoietic cell lineages. Postnatally, HSCs reside predominantly in the bone marrow and are relatively rare, but important cells because of their therapeutic potential in bone marrow transplantation protocols and in their involvement in the origin of certain leukemias. 3. 28. Stem cell fate regulation: computational modeling in the hematopoietic system

    Författare :José Teles; Beräkningsbiologi och biologisk fysik - Genomgår omorganisation; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; stochastic modeling; dynamical modeling; gene regulation; hematopoiesis; cell fate; stem cells; Fysicumarkivet A:2012:Teles;

    Sammanfattning : The ability to sense the surrounding environment and respond to external fluctuations is a fundamental property of cells, the basic unit of life. Although cells can be very different in their composition and structure, they all have specialized molecular mechanisms that allow them to adapt to their environment, by coordinating gene expression and protein production. 4. 29. The Role of Lhx2 During Organogenesis : - Analysis of the Hepatic, Hematopoietic and Olfactory Systems

    Författare :Åsa Kolterud; Leif Carlsson; Stefan Thor; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; LIM-homeobox gene; Lhx2; fetal liver; hepatic stellate cells; hematopoietic stem cells; septum transversum; self-renewal; odorant receptor genes; olfactory epithelium; olfactory sensory neuron; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : During embryonic development a variety of tissues and organs such as the lung, eye, and kidney are being formed. The generation of functional organs is regulated by reciprocal cell-cell interactions. Via the secretion of soluble molecules one type of cells affect the fate of their neighboring cells. LÄS MER

  5. 30. Hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells and potentials for application in fetal cell replacement therapy

    Författare :Karina Liuba; Lund Obstetrik och gynekologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; in utero hematopoietic cell transplantation; hematopoietic stem cell; multipotent progenitor; fetal therapy; heterotypic cell fusion;

    Sammanfattning : Fetal cell replacement therapy or in utero hematopoietic cell transplantation (IUHCT) is proposed as a non-myeloablative alternative to bone marrow transplantation (BMT) for a number of inborn immunologic, hematologic and metabolic disorders. IUHCT represents the method through which variable amounts of natural or genetically modified hematopoietic cells can be transferred to the fetal recipient in hope of correcting the disorder and preventing postnatal permanent organ damage.
