1. Multipactor in low pressure gas and in nonuniform rf field structures
Sammanfattning : Resonant electron multiplication in vacuum, multipactor, is analysed for several geometries where the RF electric field is nonuniform. In particular, it is shown that the multipactor behaviour in a coaxial line is both qualitatively and quantitatively different from that observed with the conventionally used simple parallel-plate model. 2. Computational framework for studying charge transport in high-voltage gas-insulated systems
Sammanfattning : Electrical switchgear industry dealing with transmission and distribution of power is strongly affected by the changing dynamics of climate control. Their main contribution to the global warming is through SF6 gas, having a GWP of 23500 (times of CO2). SF6 plays an important role in providing electrical insulation for these high voltage systems. 3. Computational framework for studying charge transport in high-voltage gas-insulated systems
Sammanfattning : Increasing demands in electric energy stimulates a shift in functional requirements to power distribution networks and pushes equipment manufacturers to develop highly optimized products where high rated parameters (e.g., energy, voltages) are combined with reduced geometrical dimensions of components. 4. Modelling of cathode-plasma interaction in short high-intensity electric arc : Application to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding
Sammanfattning : In arc welding the quality of the weld is strongly influenced by the thermal history of the workpiece which is itself governed by the electric arc heat source. The models for predicting weld properties thus need a good evaluation of the distribution of the heat input from thearc to the workpiece. LÄS MER
5. On Gas Dynamics of Exhaust Valves
Sammanfattning : With increasing effects of global warming, efforts are made to make transportationin general more fuel efficient. When it comes to internal combustion engines, the most common way to improve fuel efficiency is through ‘downsizing’. Downsizingmeans that a smaller engine (with lower losses and less weight) performsthe task of a larger engine. LÄS MER
