  1. 1. Forkhead Genes in Mammalian Development

    Författare :Henrik Landgren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Development; Forkhead;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns aspects of Forkhead gene biology and it’s relation to mammalian development. Genes from three subclasses are discussed, Foxj3, Foxf1 and f2, and Foxe3. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Human Forkhead Genes

    Författare :Stefan Pierrou; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; transcription factor; FREAC; human forkhead homologues;

    Sammanfattning : The forkhead family constitutes a group of genes which encodes transcription factors that share a common DNA-binding domain, the forkhead domain. The first member to be discovered was the Drosophila melanogaster gene fork head. Members of this family have been found in a variety of species from bakers' yeast to man. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Functional studies of two forkhead genes

    Författare :Mikael Heglind; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :forkhead genes; Foxs1; Foxi1; vacuolar type H -ATPase; boundary cap; neural crest stem cells;

    Sammanfattning : Forkhead genes are functionally diverse and several have been linked to human disease. A previous screen for forkhead genes identified the family member FOXS1. To characterize the function of this gene, we produced a mouse model in which the Foxs1 gene was replaced by a lacZ marker allele. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Mechanisms of survival and maintenance of Hematopoietic Stem Cells and Multipotent Progenitor Cells

    Författare :Richard Karlsson; Institutionen för translationell medicin; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; extracellulära vätskor; Hematologi; extracellular fluids; Haematology; hypoxia.; forkhead; Akt PKB; Bcl-2; apoptosis; Flt3; FL; c-kit; KL; cytokines; Hematopoiesis; progenitor;

    Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells and progenitor cells are maintained in the bone marrow microenvironment, where factors including soluble and membrane-bound cytokines influence the processes of self-renewal, proliferation and differentiation. Two nonreduntant cytokines with effects on hematopoiesis, Kit Ligand (KL) and Flt3 Ligand (FL), signal via related tyrosine kinase receptors, c-kit and Flt3. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Regulation of Mast Cell Survival

    Författare :Christine Möller; Gunnar Nilsson; Alf Grandien; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pathology; mast cell; A1; Bfl-1; Bim; Bcl-2 family members; basophil; SCF; forkhead; survival; Patologi; Pathology; Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells are long-lived effector cells of importance for both acute and chronic inflammations. Mast cells can be activated in many different ways, leading to the release of inflammatory mediators. In contrast to most other inflammatory cells, activated mast cells have the capacity to recover, regranulate and thereby be activated again. LÄS MER
