  1. 1. NO Effect on Inflammatory Reaction in Extracorporeal Circulation Ex vivo Studies

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Mika Lahtinen; Jan Borowiec; Per Venge; Vibeke Videm; [2005]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; Cardiac surgery; extracorporeal circulation; inflammatory reaction; NO; degranulation; neutrophil; eosinophil; basophil; complement; contact system; coagulation; Medicin; MEDICINE Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; MEDICIN Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; Clinical Chemistry; klinisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Nitric oxide (NO) is expressed in inflammatory tissues. However, NO effects are controversial in inflammation; NO is described as acting in a dose dependent manner and possess both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory properties. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modulation of cytokine production by mononuclear cells in allergic inflammation. The effects of allergen exposure and anti-inflammatory agents

    Detta är en avhandling från Göteborg : Göteborgs Universitet

    Författare :Katarzyna Wosinska-Becler; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2003]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cytokines; seasonal allergy; kinetics; CysLTR1 antagonist; montelukast; rush immunotherapy; monocyte; basophil; eosinophil; NK cell; T cell;

    Sammanfattning : In pollen-sensitized subjects, seasonal allergen exposure results in clinical allergic disease, which in affected tissues displays a morphological picture typical of chronic inflammation. The cellular responses to allergens include the production of inflammatory cytokines that can be examined in peripheral blood cells. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Hematopoietic Serine Proteases from the Mast Cell Chymase and Tryptase Loci - a Functional and Evolutionary Analysis

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Jenny Reimer; Lars Hellman; Gunnar Nilsson; Sara Wernersson; Göran Andersson; [2008]
    Nyckelord :Cell and molecular biology; immune system; mast cell; basophil; mast cell chymase locus; multigene tryptase locus; serine protease; evolution; Cell- och molekylärbiologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells are key effector cells in allergic and inflammatory diseases. However, their primary role is most likely in host defence against parasitic and bacterial infections. Mast cells are a particularly rich source of serine proteases. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Regulation of Mast Cell Survival

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Christine Möller; Gunnar Nilsson; Alf Grandien; [2004]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pathology; mast cell; A1; Bfl-1; Bim; Bcl-2 family members; basophil; SCF; forkhead; survival; Patologi; MEDICINE Morphology; cell biology; pathology Pathology; MEDICIN Morfologi; cellbiologi; patologi Patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Mast cells are long-lived effector cells of importance for both acute and chronic inflammations. Mast cells can be activated in many different ways, leading to the release of inflammatory mediators. In contrast to most other inflammatory cells, activated mast cells have the capacity to recover, regranulate and thereby be activated again. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Innovative approaches to study basophil function in inflammation

    Detta är en avhandling från Stockholm : Karolinska Institutet, Dept of Medicine, Solna

    Författare :Zenib Aljadi; Karolinska Institutet.; Karolinska Institutet.; [2017]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Basophils are circulating granulocytes. They are very rare and represent less than 1% of peripheral blood leukocytes. Basophils connect the innate and adaptive immune responses by the secretion of a variety of immune-mediators involved in the pathogenesis of many inflammatory diseases mainly allergic reactions and autoimmune diseases.
