  1. 1. Autobiographical Memory : Depending on sensory retrieval cue and gender

    Författare :Kristina Petersén Karlsson; Fredrik Jönsson; Johan Willander; Sverker Sikström; Jonathan Koppel; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; autobiographical memory; sensory retrieval cues; age distribution; phenomenological ratings; latent semantic analysis LSA ; linguistic inquiry word count LIWC ; gender differences; Psychology; psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : In my thesis I raised two questions: Does autobiographical memory differ i) depending on the sensory retrieval cue (Study I and II)? and ii) depending on gender (Study III)?Concerning retrieval cues, three unimodal cues (i.e., photographs, naturalistic sounds and odors) and one multimodal cue (i.e. LÄS MER

    Författare :Ali Iranpour; Institutionen för datavetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Multimedia; Computer Architecture; Mobile; Embedded Systems; constraint programming; Memory; Processing; optimal memory mapping;

    Sammanfattning : Multimedia has become one of the cornerstones of our 21st century society and, when combined with mobility, has enabled a tremendous evolution of our society. However, joining these two concepts introduces many technical challenges. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Making Head or Tail of the Hippocampus : A Long-Axis Account of Episodic and Spatial Memory

    Författare :Jonas Persson; Hedvig Söderlund; Tomas Furmark; Asaf Gilboa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hippocampus; fMRI; episodic memory; spatial memory; gender differences; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : While episodic and spatial memory both depend on the hippocampus, opposite gender differences in these functions suggest they are partly separate, with different neural underpinnings. The anterior and posterior hippocampus differ  in structure and whole-brain connectivity, and studies point to the posterior hippocampus being more involved in spatial memory while the anterior hippocampus’ role in episodic memory is less clear. 5. 5. Motivation and episodic memory performance

    Författare :Leonard Ngaosuvan; Timo Mäntylä; Carl-Martin Allwood; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; Motivation; Memory Performance; Psykologi; Psychology; Psykologi;

    Sammanfattning : In everyday life, motivation and learning are connected like music and dancing. Many educators realize this and work hard to improve their students' motivation. A motivated student may repeat and self-rehearse the content of a chapter more often, which leads to better learning. LÄS MER
