  1. 16. Chronic immune activation and lymphocyte apoptosis during HIV-1 infection

    Författare :Nicolas Ruffin; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : HIV-1 infected individuals are subject to a chronic immune activation resulting from HIV-1 replication, microbial translocation, and lymphopenia. Despite the great advance of antiretroviral treatment (ART), the immune activation remains associated with poor immune reconstitution during HIV-1 infection. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Maturation of T-lymphocytes and monocytes in children in relation to development of atopic disease

    Författare :Helena Aniansson Zdolsek; Örjan Stranne; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Bakgrund: Atopiska sjukdomar har ökat i västvärlden under de senaste årtiondena. För att förstå den bakomliggande mekanismen vid sensibilisering mot allergen behöver vi förbättra vår kunskap av T-lymfocyters och monocyters utmognad hos små bam. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Modelling T helper cell activation and development

    Författare :Andreas Jansson; Högskolan i Skövde; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; T cells; mathematical models; differentiation; computer simulation; mathematical models; cellular signal transduction; Bioinformatics; Bioinformatik; Natural sciences; Naturvetenskap; Technology; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : T helper (Th) cell activation and development is one of the most critical events in regulating the adaptive immune response. Understanding its regulation could be of great therapeutical value as many severe diseases are associated with failure in controlling T cell activation and development. LÄS MER

  4. 19. T cells and costimulatory factors in myasthenia gravis

    Författare :Maria Kakoulidou; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :T cells; Myasthenia gravis MG ; costimulation; autoimmune disease; genetic polymorphism; twin;

    Sammanfattning : The autoimmune disease myasthenia gravis (MG) is characterized by muscle weakness due to a loss of acetylcholine receptors (AChR) at the neuromuscular end plate. Most MG patients have pathogenic antibodies directed against the receptor. We provide further evidence that T cells are important for establishment and continuation of the disease. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Herpesvirus Infection and Immunity in Neurocognitive Disorders

    Författare :Gabriel Westman; Britt-Marie Eriksson; Martin Ingelsson; Olle Korsgren; Jan Ernerudh; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Alzheimer s disease; Herpes simplex encephalitis; Herpesvirus; Cytomegalovirus; CMV; HSV-1; HHV-6; CD8 T-cells; Cellular immunity; Immunosenescence; Autoimmunity; NMDA receptor; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Herpesviruses have co-speciated with several vertebrate and invertebrate animals throughout the history of evolution. In the immunocompetent human host, primary infection is usually benign, whereafter the virus is brought into life-long latency. LÄS MER
