21. Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Determination of Human Body Composition. Methodological and Applied Studies
Sammanfattning : Background: Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) provide important research opportunities due to their unique capability of characterizing and quantifying tissues and organs. Ionizing radiation is a limitation using CT, and recent developments aiming to improve MRI for determination of body composition have not been validated. LÄS MER
22. Young adults with childhood-onset inflammatory bowel disease - aspects of bone mineral density, body composition and physical exercise
Sammanfattning : Background: Our research group has previously shown that low bone mineral density (BMD) is common in children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, there is limited knowledge on the development of BMD and body composition traits (skeletal muscle and body fat) in early adulthood in this patient group. LÄS MER
23. Studies on nutrition, body composition and bone mineralization in healthy 8-yr-olds in an urban Swedish community

24. Long-term effects of growth hormone replacement in hypopituitary adults on body composition, bone mass and cardiovascular risk factors
Sammanfattning : Growth hormone (GH) deficient (GHD) adults have decreased bone mass and muscle strength, impaired body composition, disturbed serum lipid pattern and increased morbidity and mortality in cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. GH replacement normalizes most of these aberrations within the first year of treatment. LÄS MER
25. Early life environmental exposures and children's growth : A longitudinal study evaluating prenatal exposure for endocrine disrupting chemicals and nutrition in relation to children's growth up to seven years of age
Sammanfattning : Endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have the potential to disrupt the endocrine system in humans and animals with importance for health and development. Additionally, optimal nutrition during pregnancy is critical for fetal growth and pregnancy outcomes. LÄS MER
