1. Characterisation of green-glued wood adhesive bonds
Sammanfattning : The gluing of unseasoned wood, called green gluing, is a relatively new sawmill process, implying a radically changed order of material flow in the production of value-added wood-based products. It facilitates the enhancement of raw material recovery and value yield by integrating defect elimination and gluing already before kiln drying. LÄS MER
2. Exploring the Wood Adhesive Performance of Wheat Gluten
Sammanfattning : The increasing environmental concern has reawakened an interest in materials based on renewable resources as replacement for petroleum-based materials. The main objective of this thesis was to explore plant proteins, more specifically wheat gluten, as a binder in wood adhesives intended for typical solid wood applications such as furniture and flooring. 3. Micromechanical retention and chemical bonding to polycrystalline dental ceramics : studies on aluminum oxide and stabilized zirconium dioxide
4. Steel members strengthened with carbon fibre reinforced polymers - A study of local and global structural behaviour
Sammanfattning : Investigations have been conducted by several research groups to study the effect of using carbon fibre reinforced polymers (CFRP) as reinforcement on steel beams and a brief summary of this work is given in this thesis. Laboratory studies of reinforced steel beams demonstrate that the bending stiffness and the ultimate load-carrying capacity can be significantly increased. LÄS MER
5. Novel RF MEMS Switch and Packaging Concepts
Sammanfattning : Radio-frequency microelectromechanical systems (RF~MEMS) are highly miniaturized devices intended to switch, modulate, filter or tune electrical signals from DC to microwave frequencies. The micromachining techniques used to fabricate these components are based on the standard clean-room manufacturing processes for high-volume integrated semiconductor circuits. LÄS MER
