En materialgrupp som är särskiltintressant är höghållfasta keramiska material, oxidkeramer så somyttriumdioxidstabiliserad tetragonal polykristallin zirkoniumdioxid(Y-TZP). LÄS MER

  3. 18. First Principles Approach to the Hydrogen Pick-up during Oxidation of Zirconium Alloys by Water

    Författare :Mikaela Lindgren; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; DFT; corrosion; zirconium alloys; hydrogen pick-up; electro-catalysis;

    Sammanfattning : Zirconium alloys are widely used in nuclear power plants as cladding material to contain the fission fuel in the reactor cores. A limiting factor for fuel longevity is the corrosion property of the zirconium alloys. The main corrodent in the reactor core is water. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Monolithic and semi-monolithic translucent zirconium-dioxide restorations : aspects on design, material and strength

    Författare :Fahad Bakitian; Malmö universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Although many clinical reports have shown high rates of clinical success associated with fixed dental restorations made of traditional zirconium-dioxide (zirconia), clinical failure due to improper design aiming to achieve high strength and optimal aesthetics, still occurs. Previous clinical and laboratory studies indicated that veneering porcelain and the connector represent the weak parts of the fully-veneered zirconia restorations where failure may occur. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Atom Probe Tomography of Hydrogen and of Grain Boundaries in Corroded Zircaloy-2

    Författare :Gustav Sundell; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; corrosion; Field adsorption.; Hydrogen pick-up; Hydrogen analysis; Zirconium alloys; Atom probe tomography;

    Sammanfattning : Due to their low thermal neutron capture cross-section, zirconium alloys are widely used in the nuclear industry for fuel cladding and structural components. The lifetime of the fuel assemblies in the reactors are largely dictated by the ability of the fuel cladding to withstand corrosion and mechanical damage. LÄS MER
