2. Global radial basis function collocation methods for PDEs
Sammanfattning : Radial basis function (RBF) methods are meshfree, i.e., they can operate on unstructured node sets. Because the only geometric information required is the pairwise distance between the node points, these methods are highly flexible with respect to the geometry of the computational domain. LÄS MER
3. Surfaces Designed for High and Low Friction
Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises tribological studies of extremely well-defined surfaces of different designs. Both low-friction and high-friction surfaces were manufactured and experimentally evaluated. In the low-friction studies, lithography and anisotropic etching of silicon was first used as a texturing technique. 4. Self-efficacy, Vocational Rehabilitation and Transition to Work
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to examine the relationship between self-efficacy, individually tailored vocational rehabilitation and transition to work or studies.Study I was a cross-sectional study based on questionnaire- and registry data, investigating whether factors related to sick leave predict self-efficacy in women on long-term sick leave (n= 337) due to pain and/or mental illness. 5. Improved detection and performance of surface expression from the AIDA-I autotransporter
Sammanfattning : Surface expression of recombinant proteins has attracted a lot of attention due to its potential in applications such as enzyme production, vaccine delivery and bioremediation. Autotransporters have been used for surface expression of a variety of proteins, but the expression systems reported in literature have typically been inflexible and incapable of detecting proteolysis, thereby limiting surface expression yield.
