  1. 21. Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Applications of Spectroscopy in the Photon Migration Regime

    Författare :Tomas Svensson; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Porosimetry; Biomedical optics; Pharmaceutical analysis; Monte Carlo; Scattering media; Photon migration; Laser spectroscopy; High-resolution spectroscopy; Time-resolved spectroscopy; Time-of-flight;

    Sammanfattning : The present thesis is devoted to two different matters: One part is the development of a novel optical technique for characterisation of solid pharmaceutical materials. The other part being the continued development of photon time-of-flight spectroscopy, as well as exploration of new application areas of this method. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Investigation and calibration of pulsed time-of-flight terrestrial laser scanners

    Författare :Yuriy Reshetyuk; Lars E. Sjöberg; Stig-Göran Mårtensson; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :terrestrial laser scanning; error sources; calibration; coordinate precision accuracy;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis has two aims. The first one is the investigation and analysis of the errors occurring in the measurements with pulsed time-of-flight (TOF) terrestrial laser scanners (TLS). A good understanding of the error sources and the relationships between them is necessary to secure the data accuracy. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Characterisation of the Neutron Wall and of Neutron Interactions in Germanium-Detector Systems

    Författare :Joa Ljungvall; Johan Nyberg; Andres Gadea; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nuclear physics; High-purity Ge detectors; Liquid scintillator detectors; Neutron scattering; Digital electronics; Time-of-flight technique; Pulse-shape simulation and analysis; Monte Carlo simulations; Geant4; Gamma-ray tracking; AGATA; Neutron Wall; Kärnfysik; Nuclear physics; Kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : A Monte Carlo simulation of the Neutron Wall detector system has been performed using Geant4, in order to define optimum conditions for the detection and identification of multiple neutrons. Emphasis was put on studying the scattering of neutrons between different detectors, which is the main source of the apparent increase of the number of detected neutrons. LÄS MER

  4. 24. On Robot Feedback from Range Sensors : Reliable Control by Active Reduction of Uncertainty and Ambiguities

    Författare :Jonas Nygårds; John Hallam; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; robot gripping and docking; LQG-feedback; posture estimation; Gaussian sum; optronic sensing; sheet of light range camera; time-of-flight laser; specular reflection s; multiple scattering; range ghosts ; active reduction of ambiguities; reliability; uncertainty; tolerances;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is on modelling and experimental tests when non contact sensing isused for feedback control in robotics. The motion of the robot is to be controlled relative to objects in the surrounding workspace during operations like gripping/docking, surface following, shape measuring etc. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Male moth behaviour and perception in pheromone plumes

    Författare :Peter Valeur; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Djurekologi; Animal ecology; Grapholita molesta; Noctuidae; Lepidoptera; Tortricidae; behaviour; electrophysiology; single cell; flight tunnel; sex pheromone; wind tunnel; radar; flight; pre-exposure; mechanisms of mating disruption; Agrotis segetum; choice test;

    Sammanfattning : Behaviour of male moths and electrophysiological responses of male pheromone-specific olfactory receptor neurones were studied in two model species, the oriental fruit moth Grapholita molesta and the turnip moth Agrotis segetum. The studies were aimed at elucidating the relative importance of different mating disruption mechanisms. LÄS MER
