  1. 1. Food for Thought : Essays on Green Public Procurement and the Market for Organic Food

    Författare :Hanna Lindström; Sofia Lundberg; Tommy Lundgren; Janne Tukiainen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Organic food policy; agricultural policy; Green Public Procurement; environmental policy; consumer demand; demand system; price transmission; survey data; retail scanner data;

    Sammanfattning : Paper [I] In this paper, we study a Green Public Procurement (GPP) policy decided by the Swedish government in 2006, stating objectives related to organic farming. The policy aims to increase the public sector's organic food purchases, in order to incentivise Swedish farmers to convert to organic practices, thereby contributing to national environmental quality objectives. 2. 2. Enzymatic hydrolysis coupled to hot water extraction for determination of flavonoids in plants

    Författare :Sofia Lindahl; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; extraction; flavonoids; quercetin; biocatalysis; beta-glucosidase; sustainable chemistry; hyphenation; molecularly imprinted polymers; onion;

    Sammanfattning : The word sustainability is more and more frequently used within the field of chemistry and in many other fields. Green or sustainable chemistry was introduced during the 90 ́s as a field of chemistry where the environmental and health impacts of processes and products are evaluated and improved. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The introduction of Pinus contorta in Sweden : implications for forest diversity

    Författare :Sofia Bäcklund; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : An increasing demand for forest-based products calls for further development and intensification of forest management. The use of non-native tree species in forestry is a common and expanding silvicultural practice worldwide but the effect of non-native trees on native biodiversity and ecosystem functioning is still poorly understood. 4. 4. On specification and inference in the econometrics of public procurement

    Författare :David Sundström; Kurt Brännäs; Sofia Lundberg; Michael Visser; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; auctions; dependent variable transformation model; green public procurement; indirect inference; instrumental variable; latent variable; log-generalized gamma distribution; maximum likelihood; measurement error; non-linear least squares; objective effectiveness; orthogonal polynomial regression; prediction; simulation estimation; structural estimation; nationalekonomi; Economics; Econometrics; ekonometri;

    Sammanfattning : In Paper [I] we use data on Swedish public procurement auctions for internal regularcleaning service contracts to provide novel empirical evidence regarding green publicprocurement (GPP) and its effect on the potential suppliers’ decision to submit a bid andtheir probability of being qualified for supplier selection. We find only a weak effect onsupplier behavior which suggests that GPP does not live up to its political expectations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Corrosion-included metal runoff from external constructions and its environmental interaction : a combined field and laboratory investigation of Zn, Cu, Cr and Ni for risk assessment

    Författare :Sofia Bertling; Inger Odnevall Wallinder; Herbert E. Allen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Environmental technology; Atmospheric corrosion; metal runoff; metal dispersion; soil; limestone; retention; Miljöteknik; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The 1990s has seen an increased awareness of possible environmental effects of corrosion-induced metal release from outdoor constructions. Considerable efforts have been initiated to perform critical assessments of possible risks of selected metals. Gaps of knowledge have been identified and research investigations started. LÄS MER
