6. Computational analysis on the effects of variations in T and B cells. Primary immunodeficiencies and cancer neoepitopes
Sammanfattning : Computational approaches are essential to study the effects of inborn and somatic variations. Results from such studies contribute to better diagnosis and therapies. Primary immunodeficiencies (PIDs) are rare inborn defects of key immune response genes. Somatic variations are main drivers of most cancers. LÄS MER
7. Get a grip on chaos : Tailored measures for complex systems on surfaces
Sammanfattning : Complex systems are ubiquitous in physics, biology and mathematics. This thesis is concerned with describing and understanding complex systems. Some new concepts about how large systems can be viewed in a lower dimensional framework are proposed. The systems presented are examples from ecology and chemistry. LÄS MER
8. Computational Studies of Protein-ligand Systems Using Enhanced Sampling Methods
Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on studies of protein-ligand systems using enhanced sampling methods. In chapter I, I give a brief introduction to the time-scale problem and some enhanced sampling methods. In chapter II, the basics of MD simulation are reviewed. LÄS MER
9. Deglaciation pattern and dynamics in the Bolmen area, southwestern Sweden
Sammanfattning : The Late Weichselian deglaciation of an area in southwestern Sweden was reconstructed by geomorphological, sedimentological and lithostratigraphical methods. The morainic deposits were mapped and classified into three landsystems: Streamlined terrain, hummocky moraine and cover moraine. LÄS MER
10. Palaeoenvironment in North-Western Romania during the last 15 000 years
Sammanfattning : The objectives of this thesis are to establish a chronological framework for environmental changes during the last 15,000 years in northwest Romania, to reconstruct the vegetation development, and to evaluate the underlying processes for forest dynamics. Furthermore, an overview of earlier and ongoing pollenstratigraphic work in Romania is provided. LÄS MER
