  1. 21. Radiobiological studies with low energy ionizing radiation - dosimetric aspects

    Författare :Gustav Grafström; Lund Medicinsk strålningsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; low energy; Radiobiology; dosimetry; cell model; Radiofarmaceutisk teknik; Radiopharmaceutical technology; radiobiologi; Nukleärmedicin; radiobiology; Nuclear medicine; animal model;

    Sammanfattning : Background: During the last 20 years both in vitro and in vivo models have been developed for studies of the cell killing characteristics of low energy electrons, e.g. Auger electrons. This thesis deals with radiobiological effects of radiation from indium isotopes in V79 cells in vitro (Paper I-III) and the rat testis in vivo (Paper IVV). LÄS MER

  2. 22. Development of targeted alpha therapy with Bi-213 and At-211 for the treatment of disseminated cancer

    Författare :Anna Gustafsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; alpha particles; astatine; bismuth; MX35; ovarian cancer; polylysine; pretargeted radioimmunotherapy; radioimmunotherapy;

    Sammanfattning : Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) is a type of targeted cancer therapy. The concept behind RIT is to deliver cytotoxic ionizing radiation to tumor cells by attaching radionuclides to tumor-specific antibodies. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Induction and repair of DNA double-strand breaks in human cells exposed to different radiation qualities

    Författare :Irina Radulescu; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :DSB; chromatin structure; high-LET; heat-labile sites; PFGE; DNA-PKcs; XRCC1; PARP-1; pATM; gamma-H2AX; 53BP1;

    Sammanfattning : Radiation therapy is used in attempting to kill tumor cells by inducing DNA double- strand breaks (DSB), the most critical DNA lesions. Recent and planned radiation therapy strategies use high-linear energy transfer (LET) radiation to effectively treat malignant tumors. LÄS MER
