  1. 26. Analysis of Angiographies in Human Healthy Eyes and in Open-angle Glaucoma : Retinal Mean Transit Time and Optic Nerve Head Circulation

    Författare :Gunilla Bjärnhall; Albert Alm; Göran Sperber; Selim Orgul; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi;

    Sammanfattning : Purpose of the studies was to develop a more robust technique to determine retinal mean transit time in healthy and in glaucoma eyes and to evaluate the circulation of the optic nerve head in glaucoma patients.The retinal mean transit time impulse-response method was evaluated in human healthy eyes and normal values and reproducibility were tested. 2. 27. Bothnia dystrophy, a clinical, genetical and electrophysiological study

    Författare :Marie Burstedt; Ola Sandgren; Ola Textorius; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ophtalmology; retinal pigment epithelium; retinitis pigmentosa; neural retina; electroretinogram; cellular retinaldehyde-binding protein; dark adaptometry; retinal degeneration; Oftalmiatrik; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi; Ophtalmology; oftalmiatrik;

    Sammanfattning : A high frequency of retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is found in Northern Sweden. In an inventory of autosomal recessive RP patients in Västerbotten County, a great number of cases with a unique phenotype was noticed, denoted Bothnia Dystrophy (BD). LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : A balanced tear film is essential for a healthy ocular surface. Insufficient tear production may result in dry eye, a common disorder in the elderly population. Dry eye causes significant discomfort in the patients and may lead to visual impairment and ocular infections. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Pooling Data from Similar Randomized Clinical Trials Comparing Latanoprost with Timolol; Medical Results and Statistical Aspects

    Författare :Katarina Hedman; Albert Alm; Adam Taube; T Joseph Sheehan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Ophtalmology; mean intraocular pressure; target intraocular pressure; latanoprost; timolol; open-angle glaucoma; ocular hypertension; trial design; Oftalmiatrik; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi; Ophtalmology; oftalmiatrik;

    Sammanfattning : Two different principles were studied. 1st - statistical analysis techniques were used to obtain medical results from a patient population. 2nd - the patient population was used to study the statistical analysis techniques. LÄS MER

  5. 30. A Study of Some Temporal Properties of the Human Visual Evoked Potential, and Their Relation to Binocular Function

    Författare :Björn Johansson; Peter Jakobsson; Anders Sjöström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; VEP Visual Evoked Potential ; contrast sensitivity; binocularity; latency; Fourier analysis; strabismus; amblyopia; Ophtalmology; Oftalmologi;

    Sammanfattning : As disturbed binocular functions in small children may lead to severe amblyopia it is of interest to detect it as early as possible. Most tests for binocular functions, however, demand active cooperation and may be unreliable in children up to 4-5 years of age. LÄS MER
