  1. 1. Small biotopes: Landscape and management effects on pollinators

    Författare :Annika Söderman; Biodiversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Agri-environmnetal scheme; management; agriculture; landscape complexity; heterogeneity; landscape scale; mall biotopes; field boundaries; pollinating insects; pollination; bumblebees; solitary bees; hoverflies;

    Sammanfattning : The intensification of agriculture during the second half of the twentieth century, has caused sever declines of farmland biodiversity, where loss of semi-natural habitats is one of the major drivers. To halt further loss of habitat and biodiversity, agri-environmental schemes (AES) are used to compensate farmers to use methods less harmful to the environment. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Effective conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services in agricultural landscapes

    Författare :William Sidemo Holm; BECC: Biodiversity and Ecosystem services in a Changing Climate; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biodiversity; ecosystem services; agri-environmental measures; cost-effectiveness; conservation;

    Sammanfattning : Agricultural land use is a major driver of biodiversity losses and changes in ecosystem services. Thus, for the sake of both humans and wild organism per se, effective strategies that enable both agricultural production and conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services are urgently needed. 3. 3. Biodiversity in Agricultural Landscapes: Landscape and Scale-Dependent Effects of Organic Farming

    Författare :Maj Rundlöf; Biodiversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Djurekologi; Natural science; Naturvetenskap; Ekologi; Animal ecology; plants; spatial scales; species richness; Ecology; landscape ecology; agri-environment schemes; farming practice; conservation; butterflies; bumble bees;

    Sammanfattning : Declines in the distribution and abundance of many farmland species during recent decades have been attributed to agricultural intensification. Agri-environment schemes are commonly used in Europe to reduce this loss of farmland biodiversity, but their effectiveness may depend on several external factors. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Birds and butterflies at the forest-farmland interface

    Författare :Dafne Ram; Biodiversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Conservation; Monitoring; Forestry; Grassland butterflies; Farmland birds;

    Sammanfattning : Land-use change is one of the greatest threats to biodiversity. Through intensification of land-use, the agricultural landscape has become more homogenous and a result, many species associated with traditional farmland or other semi-natural open habitats have declined. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Linear infrastructure habitats for the conservation of plants and pollinators - The value of road verges and power-line corridors for landscape-scale diversity and connectivity

    Författare :Juliana Dániel Ferreira; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The substantial reduction in the area of semi-natural grasslands due to the intensification of agriculture and silviculture has resulted in a dramatic decline of species that depend on these habitats. Simultaneously, the area of grassland habitats along infrastructure such as power lines and roads continues to increase and can even surpass the area of semi-natural grasslands of high nature value.
