  1. 1. Small biotopes: Landscape and management effects on pollinators

    Detta är en avhandling från Centre for Environmental and Climate Research (CEC) and Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Lund University

    Författare :Annika Söderman; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2016]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Agri-environmnetal scheme; management; agriculture; landscape complexity; heterogeneity; landscape scale; mall biotopes; field boundaries; pollinating insects; pollination; bumblebees; solitary bees; hoverflies;

    Sammanfattning : The intensification of agriculture during the second half of the twentieth century, has caused sever declines of farmland biodiversity, where loss of semi-natural habitats is one of the major drivers. To halt further loss of habitat and biodiversity, agri-environmental schemes (AES) are used to compensate farmers to use methods less harmful to the environment. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Insect Diversity in Changing Landscapes

    Detta är en avhandling från Ekologiska institutionen, Lunds universitet

    Författare :Markus Franzén; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; växtparasitologi; Entomologi; plant parasitology; Zoology; Zoologi; Entomology; Ekologi; Ecology; butterfly; bee; dispersal; extinction; Djurekologi; Animal ecology;

    Sammanfattning : During recent decades, concern about the loss of biodiversity has increased. To change this negative trend there is an urgent need for effective conservation measures and there are ample evidence that conservation of organisms without an understanding of their ecology and behaviour is impossible. 3. 3. Pollinators and Insect Pollination in Changing Agricultural Landscapes

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University, Faculty of Science, Centre for Environmental and Climate Research

    Författare :Lina Herbertsson; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2017-10]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pollinators; pollination; agri-environment schemes; beekeeping; oilseed rape; sown flower strips; agri-environment measures;

    Sammanfattning : Agricultural intensification and associated loss of semi-natural grasslands, has resulted in reduced landscape heterogeneity. A concomitant loss of forage and nest sites for pollinating insects has driven declines across several pollinator taxa. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Quantifying Risk in Epidemiological and Ecological Contexts

    Detta är en avhandling från Linköping : Linköping University Electronic Press

    Författare :Stefan Sellman; Linköpings universitet.; Linköpings universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The rates of globalization and growth of the human population puts ever increasing pressure on the agricultural sector to intensify and grow more complex, and with this intensification comes an increased risk of outbreaks of infectious livestock diseases. At the same time, and for the same reasons, the detrimental effect that humans have on other species with which we share the environment has never been more apparent, as the current rates of species loss from ecological communities rival those of ancient mass extinction events.
